The upcoming competition that's near and dear to Devil DanceSport members is the National Collegiate Challenge held every year in Columbus, Ohio. Included in this weekend of competition is the nationaly televised Ohio Star Ball.

Members from Devil DanceSport gave a strong performance at last week's Galaxy Dance Festival here in Mesa. This is the second year that the Galaxy Dance Festival was held here in Arizona. The event was hosted by local dance instructors Paul Jack & Judy Nixon.
Nathan and Sonya did American Smooth and International Latin. AJ and Megan did American Smooth. AJ and Sarah did their American Rhythm. Debbie and Will did a Pro-Am for Latin. Kat and Tudor stole the evening with their awesome Latin dancing. More pictures to come as we get them in.

Need some music for practice? You may already have some dancesport music in your library. Dancesportmusic.com has a great list of songs for each dancesport category. You can Cha Cha to Pink and Samba to Ricky Martin. Every song is listed with it's beats per minute and level of difficulty.
A great resource for ballroom dancers is (what else) BallroomDancers.com. There are video clips and descriptions of all the ballroom dances. "This Week's Variation" describes in detail and on video of one routine you can use immediately. For Free!
USA Dance (formerly known as USABDA), is a nonprofit organization promoting Dancesport as a competitive sport and recreational enjoyment for all ages.
A division of USA Dance is the Youth and College Network (YCN), which holds collegiate ballroom dance competitions for all amatuer proficiency levels(from newcomer to championship). The Ohio competition held annually in Novemeber has great competition to watch and participate. ASU have regularly participated in the event. 2006 results are available online.
During the same weekend of Ohio's YCN competition, participants get a free ticket to watch the annual Ohio Star Ball. The same Ohio Star Ball that have featured a number of Pros in the TV show, Dancing with the Stars.
